Originally saw him being friendly and welcoming to the moms and pops coming in but because I'm a single woman with piercings all i got was "Can i help you?" not even a "Hello!" or a "Welcome to Ace Hardware!". I'm sure he thought I was there to steal, which is hilarious cause all I wanted were some nails!
If you aren't wearing a cross or have a southern respectful accent, you'll most likely be stared at and judged. I came in and started walking around and was immediately bombarded by an older man wearing a cowboy hat.
Very good location.
They always answered my stupid questions with a smile.
This may be Texas, this may be the south - but this is America. Your store is already overpriced and half the items you sell could easily be purchased from Walmart for half of what you ask for. I am def not returning to this location and I certainly hope that the man I met today reads this and rethinks the way he speaks to his customers.
Pretty sure this guy was the owner and I'm pretty sure I'm never going there again! Leave the welcomings to your employees sir and just handle the paychecks!
If you are a local business and the store offer business accounts shouldn't it be something transparent and open to all registered businesses or published criteria for those considered eligible. I asked for the criteria 5 or more times and haven't gotten any where. If the program is for private friends or a special group of valued business owners just publish it! That way people are not made to feel like begging to get in is one of the criteria to get a business account. Either way it should not be a secret! Seriously!
If you run a store and the policy is to be welcoming and friendly to anyone then you have to be that to everyone! I would imagine someone has stolen a lot of property from this store because the way I am watched when I am there by the owner is un-Nerving and uncomfortable. The last time there I saw the owner peeping around the corner at me shopping maybe it was to see if I needed help but didn't ask if I needed help at that point so I wondered if I was being followed. I understand the need to protect goods from theft but you have to do it to everybody! The plan can not be to follow people that are of a different race or class; that is harassment. People of any demographic is capable of taking. Ironically however, it is quite likely that the a group or social class automatically trusted enough to not watch could be the group taking the most cause they are not followed and watched! Just saying! I am a loyal customer but I have been subtly and routinely made to feel unwelcomed and unwanted on so many occasions that I am finally getting the picture. I am beginning to think the store owners (not the workers) has a problem with me, minorities in general or people they assume are poor. Either way I'm getting tired of turned-up noses and indifferent attitudes during sales transactions with either of the owners. I think the message of indifference is beginning to resonate and maybe its about time for me to hit the road to Home Depot, Lowes, Sears, 195 Lumber or Walmart. I will hold out for now till I can tell definitively what the deal is then I'm out!
My go-to place for everything hardware. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Someone will always greet you when you walk in. Prices are good. This place will always have my business.
